Once the Launcher mobile app is installed successfully, the setup process involves enabling location services for proximity detection (iOS) and entering MS 365 account details for authentication with the Launcher receiver.
Location services (iOS)
The recommended option for location services is ‘Always allow’, which will discover devices even when app is not running, or when the iOS device is locked. This allows a connection between the iOS device and the Launcher device to be maintained while the mobile app is in the background, or while the iOS device is locked. When ‘Always allow’ is enabled, a notification will appear when a Launcher device discovered.
The location services option ‘Only while using the app’ will only discover devices while the app is running in foreground, and sending the app to the background will interrupt the connection between the iOS device and the Launcher device.
Microsoft 365 Authentication
Mobile app users are required to enter their Microsoft 365 credentials in order to use the application. This is achieved through a simple form on the app’s interface. Once the authentication is complete, mobile app users will have access to the app's main functionality, which includes viewing the Microsoft 365 account calendar and launching personal calendar meetings.
Background activity
It is required to set the permission to allow for background activity to continue using the mobile app while the application is open and in the background. This will maintain communication between your mobile phone and the large format display, ensuring that you do not get disconnected during your session.
