The home screen user interface has been designed with the large format touchscreen in mind. From here, you'll have the ability to launch applications and video calls, sign in using Microsoft 365 and view room details. Each section of the home screen is described in more detail further below.
Details such as the room name, location and organisation can be found in the top left of the screen. This information is added during first time set up of Launcher, and can be edited in the application settings at any time. See settings for room details
Date and time
Launcher uses the date and time set by the system on which it is installed. Access your Windows settings to change the date and time displayed by Launcher.
Shortcuts - arranged in a grid layout at the centre of the home screen - allow you to launch applications directly from Launcher. These applications must first be installed on the Windows system and are then added to Launcher via the settings. See settings for room apps
The room calendar - to the right of the shortcuts on the home screen - displays meetings that have been scheduled using MS Exchange. When meetings are scheduled for use with a video conferencing tool, meetings can be launched directly from the room calendar. Setting up one-touch meetings with Launcher is possible with many video conferencing tools. Here are some guides on how to set this up with Zoom, MS Teams, BlueJeans, GoToMeeting and Skype for Business.
The room calendar can be configured at any time from the application settings. See settings for room calendar
An option is available for you to clear the room of temporary information such as browsing history and cache. In addition to clearing information stated previously, clearing the room will also close any applications that have been opened during your session. This functionality has been introduced to protect your information and ensure the space is ready for the next person who steps into the room. See more on Launcher data caching
Application settings are available from the bottom left of the home screen interface. Settings are locked by a PIN - set during first time set up - and provide access to setting configuration and additional tools for management of the application.
The sign in component provides you with ways to sign into the Launcher application using your Office 365 credentials. The Launcher mobile app allows you to sign in wirelessly at the tap of a button, or alternatively you can simply enter your details on the display or scan the QR code using your mobile app. Read more on mobile app sign in
Signing into the Launcher application provides access to your Office 365 information such as One Drive and your personal Outlook calendar meetings, in addition to giving you the ability to launch any meeting.
