This guide explains how to configure Microsoft Teams to work seamlessly with DisplayNote Launcher, enabling one-touch meeting access for room users.
Prerequisites
Before you start:
- Ensure DisplayNote Launcher is installed and working on your meeting room PC.
- Have a dedicated Microsoft Teams account created for that meeting room (not a personal user).
- Confirm the PC has an active internet connection.
- Sign in using your dedicated meeting room Teams account (e.g.,
meetingroom@yourdomain.com). - Verify that meetings appear in the Teams calendar.
Using a dedicated Teams account ensures Launcher can automatically access and start scheduled meetings without re-authentication.
Optional Teams Settings
To optimise Teams performance and prevent background processes from interfering with Launcher:
- In Teams, select your Profile icon → Settings.
- Under General → Application, uncheck the following:
- Auto-start application
- Open application in background
These settings prevent Teams from launching automatically and keep Launcher performance consistent.
Troubleshooting Teams Issues
Add Microsoft Teams to the Launcher Cleanup
To ensure Teams resets correctly between sessions, add it to the Launcher Cleanup process.
- Open DisplayNote Launcher.
- Navigate to Settings → Security → Configure Cleanup.
- Under Close Applications, add Microsoft Teams to the list.
- Save your changes.
Adding Teams ensures it closes completely between meetings, preventing frozen or duplicate sessions.
If Teams isn’t launching correctly or meetings fail to start, try these steps:
Step 1: Check Teams Cleanup Settings
- Go to Settings → Security → Configure Cleanup.
- Confirm Microsoft Teams is included under Close Applications.
Step 2: Run a Manual Cleanup
- In Launcher, select Settings → Security → Run Cleanup.
- Wait until all background processes (including Teams) are closed.
- Try launching the meeting again.
Step 3: Verify Teams Login
- Ensure the dedicated Teams account is still signed in.
If prompted, sign in again and check the “Stay signed in” option.
Your Microsoft Teams setup is now optimised for DisplayNote Launcher.
You can launch and join Teams meetings with a single touch — clean, fast, and reliable.
