General settings for a Montage device

The General tab in a Montage device's instance settings covers basic identification and update behaviour for the device.

Where to find it

In DisplayNote Manage, go to Montage > Devices, then select the settings (gear) icon next to the device you want to configure. The General tab is selected by default.

Available options

• Room name — the name shown for this device throughout Manage, and to anyone browsing for it to present to (for example via AirPlay or Google Cast discovery). Edit the text field and apply your changes to rename it.
• Language — sets the display language used on the Montage receiver.
• Disable updates — when turned on, prevents the device from installing Montage software updates automatically. Leave this off unless you have a specific reason to pin the device to its current version, since disabling updates also means missing security fixes.

Saving your changes

After changing a setting, select Apply changes at the bottom of the page to push the update to the device, or Cancel to discard it. You can also select Save as template at the top of the page to reuse this configuration on other devices — see Central Management: Creating and using settings templates.
